LED / Neon undercar underbody kits?

If you install them under your car, can you see the bulb? Because it will look stupid if you can see it. I just want to see the glow. And does anyone know where to buy them from online?

The only problem tho sparky with yours is that yours has no protection. Probably ISNT water proof.....probably has no protection from the bumps...rocks dirt mud that might get up underneath the car.
Oh and did I say isn't water proof? Could short your whole electrical system if they are connected and get shorted out due to water or moisture.

And looking at your pictures, thats fine and dandy on the inside of a sealed or even ported box, but your LED's are raw and exposed to the elements...and they just wont survive very many trips.
so your .50 - $1.00 LED's....how many of them would you need to make a decent set for under the body? How would you protect and seal them from exposure to the elements and damage etc?

Also by stating that you can get led's for $.50 to $1.00, the 3 million LED underbody kit sells for $199. And has 394 LED's...

thats about $.50 each. Pretty decent price going along the same lines are your estimate of $.50 to $1.00...and that $199 price is including:

Thats pretty decent to me... And is cheaper...has a warranty, has all the hardware and mounting etc.

Edit: of course if $199 is still too much for a set of 394 leds, they have their $109 sets, that have 378 LEDS!? thats WAYYY cheaper than $.50 a piece...and still have hardware etc.
So sorry sparky, looks like going your route would be more expensive in the long run. And a MAJOR hassle. Having to wire in the LED's to power/ground...make a bar to hold the lights in, seal it....so it doesn't get moisture or wet...figure out a way to turn them on and off (if you should so desire...) Possibly need other parts like mounting hardware and wiring etc.

Edit #2....yes...I've wired many electrical's in my car....But have not done LED's underbody ....I've wired up LED's under my amps w/ plexi under neath, I've lighted my box like you have in my Phoenix Gold Cyclone box....etc...I have wired a set of LED's inside my Ti 12d Elite subwoofer box. So yes I do understand this. However the asker did NOT ask for a cheap solution, he asked for where he could buy UNDERBODY Kits....your instructions prior to my prodding stated $.50 - $1.00 per LED....AS PER YOUR Pricing...you never stated anything cheaper/less than that....Again asker never asked how to build a set, or if it was cheaper to build your own, or how to make them.
Also not EVERYONE is good at installing things like this. You can't just throw down a set of 300+ LED's inside a pvc tube or vinyl tube or any tube and not have to solder them together. You also need wiring. You may also need a better source of power depending on how the LED's are stringed together etc. So based on your comments prior to mine, you just left it at oh it's easy and I did mine for $15....and you can buy LED's as cheap as $.50 - $1.00....So you can see that at your FIRST initial comments at $.50 a piece even....you might as well buy the kit, was my statement. Again I am only going by what you said in your initial statements. Also from the same LED underbody website linked, there are $89 sets and $109 sets...at $109, the LEd's are $.28 each....thats pretty cheap....and that also includes the strips they come in, wiring, WIRELESS, USB, programming stuff etc etc etc....thats not bad....at all, and again $.28 cents an LED and all the hardware wiring and such is included. You have to also take into consideration the mounting hardware...you say free...it still cost money...maybe not alot...but it still adds into the figure. And I understand that for you you might like to do this stuff and it's EASY for you Mr. A.A.S. degree in Electronics/Industrial Electronics with 25 years blah blah blah....but did you forget that some people dont have that type of knowledge? You provide no schematics...no place or links for a place to purchase said items at said prices....PVC is VERY brittle, and with the driving these days in the winter season are very easy to break...also especially in the COLD!
BTW I have YET to find SUPERBRIGHT LED's like the ones that make up the underbody kits for under $.50 anywhere....if you have links, by all means share away.
I'd love to pick some up for myself. But I agree bulk is great, but I still can not find them for as cheap as you said...

Edit: No...I sure do know about bulk...YOU stated that you can get LED's for 15 CENTS...?!? Where?.....the link you provided I don't see them for anything lower than 30 some odd cents....in which case still cheaper to buy the $109 set as I stated in my comment. Pre-fabbed, dont even need to waste any gas to go and buy any PVP pipes...dont need to pay for SHIPPING....which you didn't address in your prices...
Anyway I understand your point about making them and finding bulk pricing, but you havent proved anything. Your prices are off from what you said....again, I only bring up my arguments based on what YOU are saying....so far I can't find pricing on LED's at $.15 each. Again even at that price, it's not too expensive to buy one premade set for $109 w/ 378 LED's...and all the hardware to boot.

Oh and if Led's were to be waterproofed already or were not suseptable to water...I wonder why they come sold like this?
