Why can't I program my Samsung LCD LE40R51B TV remote to control Sky Digi Box?

I will appreciate it if someone can tell me how to program the remote to control Sky Digibox. The TV model number is LE40R51B. Also, how can I use it to control other Audio devices or DVD that are nit samsung products. Thanks for your time.

It is likely the remote cannot operate your Sky box, as the "remote" code has not been programmed into the remotes memory bank at the time of manufacture. In other words, the samsung TV remote has no clue what the code number is for the Sky box, because it does not have access to the special remote control number in it's software. If the code is not there, there is no way to put it in either. This is the case with many products, including new (or unpopular) brands, such as "Digimate" or Walmart brand "Durabrand" products. Also, many products use New unreleased codes that many older universal remotes cannot, and will not operate. Your best bet is to pick up a Harmony remote, these remotes can operate virtually ALL devices and brands, as the codes are updated daily via the online system. These remotes can be purchased for as little as $50. Check online for "Harmony remotes" Good luck.
